In complement to the COVID-19 Narratives, Dr David Nabarro and the 4SD team held Open Online Briefings (OOBs) throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. The 118 sessions from March 2020 – December 2022. provided an important space for updates as well as opportunities for interaction with 4SD’s wider network about how best to navigate the complex challenges related to the pandemic.

During this period, we developed COVID-Ready video clips (including songs by Gambian artist Nazeem), collaborated with GlobalGoals Cast for podcasts, particularly during series 4, held a COVID-Ready photo challenge which invited people to participate in the production of the video clips, partnered with youth, worked with WHO on the “infodemic” and the impact of COVID-19 on older peoples.

Whilst the COVID-19 OOBs have ended, they have led to the launch of the 4SD Foundation OOBs which continue to focus on issues related to the ongoing pandemic, but with a broader focus on other global issues as well.
